Spiritual Sunrise

Mountain View Community Church Pastor Benny Soto carries a railroad beam through the aisles Sunday during the Easter Sunrise Service at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park.
Residents touched by Royal Gorge’s Easter service
Dressed in a tattered bloodstained garment, a man portraying Jesus groaned and stumbled barefoot in front of the stage while the snow gently fell.
No one spoke, but for many people, tears ran down their cheeks as they watched the historic events unfold before their eyes Sunday during the Easter Sunrise service at the Royal Gorge.
After the music, Pastor Don Farr proclaimed ‘Jesus is alive.’
Prior to the sermon, the Bridge to Life Assembly of God Church played the music, interspersed with Sam Swancutt’s rendition of “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipe.
No one complained about the snow. Instead, they sat spellbound and celebrated the Resurrection of the Christ on a glorious Easter morning.
